The castle, nestled in the foothills of the Catskills, has been a fixture of the local community for the better part of a century. Originally known as The Stone Tower Restaurant, the castle spent the first 60 years as a restaurant serving "delicious food and tempting cocktails" according to an ad from 1958. Lovingly built by hand over nearly a decade, the castle is known far and wide for the centuries-old hand-hewn wooden beams and the intricate stonework featuring delicate stone butterflies and birdhouses dotted throughout. Step inside and you'll swear you've walked into a fairy tale.
At the workshop we are proud purveyors of preposterous peculiarities, manufacturers of makings both magical and mystical, and workers of wondrously whimsical wares. We specialize in a wide variety of handcrafted artwork and home decor drawing inspiration from the great works of fantasy and fiction as well as the likes of Walt Disney and Jim Henson. The castle gift shop is open daily and we happily accept custom commissions.
Our farm brewery, with a tavern affectionately known as the Fuggly Duckling, uses locally grown ingredients to bring you a tantalizing variety of old fashioned beers and ciders with a tongue-in-cheek fairy tale twist. Grab a tankard at the tavern...it'll be an experience fit for a king.
